Hello Everyone,
I’ll start by saying that this type of letter is not a common practice of ours. This is simply an opportunity to respond to a recent comment made to one of our all-stars by ownership of another gym in our area. The general topic was the owner comparing their gym to ours. Keep in mind this was an adult speaking to a middle school age child. The comments then shifted to our 2008-09 Senior team that won Cheersport’s Small Senior Level 4 (Small Gym Division). The opinion expressed by this owner was that Victory should not have been allowed to compete in the small gym division (inferring we didn’t qualify for that division) and that Victory should “step up and play with the big boys”.
Anyone who has enough experience in the all-star industry knows that there is no bigger venue than competing at Cheersport Nationals…it is the largest cheerleading competition in the world. Anyone who understands the all-star industry realizes that any program that wins ANY division at Cheersport has reached an incredible milestone. It’s also ridiculous to accuse Victory of being in a division that they are not eligible for. We have known the owner of Cheersport for almost 20 years and he is very well aware of our program and the fact that our gym met every criteria to be able to compete in the “Small Gym” division. Anyone who tells you differently is simply trying to minimize an incredible accomplishment and take away from the hard work a special group of young ladies and coaches put in to win such a prestigious competition. This same group of young ladies then went on to compete at the International All-Levels Championship and came in second to Haydens who later became the Online Grand Champions.
We typically ignore comments that are made about our program by other competitors because engaging in this type of juvenile behavior goes against what we believe in. But when someone tries to take away from the accomplishment of the kids and coaches in our gym by spreading lies, I will not let that go without being refuted. We have owned and operated a competitive cheerleading program going on 10 years now, and do it because we are blessed to be able to positively influence young lives, we love competitive cheerleading and we are determined to continue running a highly successful program without sacrificing our sportsmanship and ethics.
There is already too much negativity and focus on the trivial in the all-star cheerleading industry…we will never be a contributor to this type of atmosphere. We will continue to produce first rate teams and athletes just like we always have…with class and respect for our competition. Building our kids up is our priority, not tearing others down. Our ownership will never try to make our program look better by talking down about another. In fact, we always encourage potential customers to explore their options when they are looking for a gym because we are confident in the quality of our staff, ownership and the stability of our infrastructure to continue operating for another 20 years.
To our families, keep supporting the Victory! Tradition, and we welcome anyone out there that wants to be a part of our family too!
